Voted `One of the Top Three DJs in the World` (Hip Hop Connection magazine) and declared as one of `The 10 DJs you must see before you die` (Q Magazine) DJ Yoda is one of Britain`s most admired and original DJs, he has built a reputation as the only DJ to single-handedly inject humour into UK hip-hop and is admired for his originality as well as his sense of fun, he is possibly the only DJ in the world who can fill a club cutting George Formby with Jurassic 5, or 80`s pop with New York rap.
DJ Yoda`s career is leaping from strength to strength, in the past year alone he has played on the same bill as Steve Martin, Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock at the HBO Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, supported Fatboy Slim on his UK tour, toured across America with the BullRun - the US`s most exclusive car rally and 2006 sees him releasing his first artist album, ``The Amazing Adventures Of DJ Yoda`` (Antidote Records). On this, Yoda provides beats for Biz Markie, 2005 MOBO-winner Sway, Princess Superstar, Jungle Brothers, MC Paul Barman, and a host of other vocalists, and he won`t stop until he works with all the cast of Sesame Street on a turntablist DJ track.
After his success at the Afrodizzyscratch arena at Global Gathering 2005 DJ Yoda returns once more to Birmingham with his unique audio-visual hip-hop set to help Afrodizzyscratch celebrate its 4th Birthday in February. Expect the unexpected from Yoda, he`s guaranteed to keep the audience on the dancefloor all night with a set ranging from underground rap to TV themes, to nursery rhymes, country, soul, reggae, drum and bass, 80`s pop and back again.
Joining Yoda on the playlist in the Medicine bar are Klashnekoff and Afrodizzyscratch resident Mikee Lazy.
Best Hip-Hop nominee (Urban Music Awards 2004) Klashnekoff is one of the freshest talents on the UK Hip-Hop scene at the moment, and with a wealth of PA`s, radio appearances and magazine features to his credit all signs suggest that he is well on his way to the top of the game.
The founder member of the Terra Firma crew, Klashnekoff is Hackney born and bred, but his west-Indian roots have proved to be a strong influence on his music. With its reggae influenced arrangement and tales of street culture these influences are apparent on his debut album, Saga`s of Klashnekoff, which was released in 2005 hotly followed by Focus Mode released in November 2005.
Klashnekoff`s future looks bright. Standing proud amidst fierce competition, he represents some of the most articulate and impassioned street reportage in the British scene.
