    • Sound and Vision is back!!! (The quiz that is) 7th September the quiz is back from its Summer hols for more film and music trivia. 

      Join us every Tuesday for our cracking pub quiz. 

      If you think you know your films and your music this is the place to be to test all that latent knowledge.  Entry is £1 and the winning team takes the pot.  The runners up team receive a round of drinks from The Victoria

    • Zara McFarlane is a sassy, sensual jazz vocalist who brings a Caribbean flavour to traditional jazz music and original tracks. She draws influences from several styles including soul, reggae and R&B. She has performed and/or recorded with Denys Baptiste, Gary Crosby, Soweto Kinch, Omar Puente, Hugh Masekela, Abram Wilson, Orphy Robinson, Ernest Ranglin and Guy Barker. With her refreshing take on the classics and terrific original songs, Zara is bound to impress at the Public on the 12th September.

       Friendly Fire Sessions is the only regular live reggae event in Birmingham, every third friday of the month.

      Messenger Douglas is an acclaimed roots singer and producer and has toured the world with Overproof Soundsystem, from Germany to New Zealand, Croatia to the USA. His most recent singles such as Share With Me (alphamix), Perilous Time (Mighty Tree) or Kingstep (Elephant House) are played regularly by some of the tuffest roots sounds across the world, and established him as a a solid reference for UK Roots.

       

      This is the first time Messenger Douglas will be performing at the Hare and Hounds backed by his own Alphamix Dub Band for a show not to be missed.

  • LIVE BOX WITH DIANA BRAITHWAITE & CHRIS WHITELEY @ The Drum
    • Canadian blues singer Diana Braithwaite and guitarist Chris Whiteley come to perform at Live Box with the highest acclaim from critics and with multiple awards, including several Maple Blues Awards. Diana has an incredible blues voice, taking audiences back in time to blues' heyday with her wonderful performances and Chris is a multi-talented instrumentalist, being able to play the guitar, trumpet, harmonica and pedal steel and who has appeared in over 200 recordings both as a leader and session musician. Together, they form an excellent partnership that brings the highest quality blues to the Drum on the 18th September.
